About Us
NewDigs is a small, but we like to think very efficient and friendly lettings business based in the South Lakes.
Chris Cottam
I am passionate about providing the very best rental accommodation not only in terms of comfort and quality but I also like to take pride in the service we provide to our tenants.
I have had a very varied career, training in Medicine in Liverpool and the North West I initially worked as a Doctor in the NHS for many years, then after a four year spell living in France I returned to the UK and decided on a career change starting NewDigs along with some other projects. I take care of most of the day to day running of NewDigs including maintenance works so you will usually find me in work clothes and driving a van!

Like Chris, my career started in Health care, I enjoyed working as a midwife and specialist nurse for many years in the NHS.
We have four children, (a full time job in itself!) The two older ones have been through university recently, so we really understand the needs of our student tenants in our properties.
We specialise in safe, secure, well equipped flats and houses, perfect to suit your needs, whether you want a short term let, or are looking for a longer term home.
My role within New digs is to ensure all our properties are immaculately clean, well presented and equipped. I make sure our tenants have a smooth and easy transition into their new home. We pride ourselves on our service, and accessibility and are happy to help whenever we can.
Outside Newdigs, I retired recently from my role as a governor at a large Cumbrian primary school, where I also chaired the premises committee, which is responsible for the Health and Safety and maintenance contracts for school. I am also an avid beekeeper! And spend a lot of time at school, especially in our apiary, teaching the next generation of beekeepers all about these fascinating insects.
